Biography

Governance, agri-food systems and Africa–Canada initiatives.

Marc Lavigne is an experienced executive specializing in governance, international development, and agri-food systems. He has designed innovative solutions, managed high-impact projects, and built strategic partnerships across Canada and several African countries.

Marc has led major African agri-food initiatives and negotiated public-private partnerships to strengthen agricultural sectors and value chains. At the Canadian International Development Agency, he managed parliamentary strategy, advised the Minister on initiatives involving Québec, Haiti, and the Francophonie, and helped develop CIDA’s first private-sector investment-financing framework.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Social Communications from the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières, serves as Vice President of the Groupement forestier Arthabaska-Drummond, and operates a small solidarity-based organic farm.
